TextBase started as a joke between three friends
in 2018.
It was bad. Lovingly bad. The kind of bad that
makes you laugh at 2am and forget about it
for six years.
Then one day somebody opened the old Python file.
And finished it.

WHAT IS TEXTBASE?
TextBase is a turn-based text RPG with no chill,
questionable weapons, and a combat system that
will embarrass you — sometimes literally.
You wake up on a dirt road next to a dead body.
Things get weirder from there.

FEATURES
⚔ Turn-based combat with status effects
Poisoned. Stunned. Embarrassed.
Yes embarrassed is a real status effect.
The Horny Bear will make you feel it.
🗺 World map with 5 locations
Homer's Home. The Deep. Gay Central.
Cancer City. The Arena.
Each one worse than the last in the best way.
🏥 A Hospital with insurance
50 gold a week. The doctor doesn't ask
questions. You shouldn't either.
⚒ Crafting, Smithing and Durability
Make things. Improve things. Break things.
Repair things. Repeat until you die.
📋 Job Board at every location
Work for gold between adventures.
Jobs include: Rat Catcher, Propaganda
Distributor, Glitter Cleanup Crew, and
Fight Commentator (extra pay if someone cries).
⭐ Six skill tracks
Brute. Fast Talker. Crafter.
Enchanting. Fishing. Smithing.
Yes fishing. Don't question it.
🎣 Fishing in combat
Once per fight you can cast a line.
You might catch a fish. You might catch a boot.
You might catch 50 XP.
Nobody knows. That's the point.
💀 Weapon and armor durability
Everything breaks eventually.
Your Cancer Dagger. Your Assless Chaps.
Your dignity.
Especially your dignity.
🌙 Day and night cycle
Night is more dangerous.
Monsters hit harder.
Traders are grumpier.
The Hospital is still open. It's a hospital.
🎮 Developer cheat menu
It's in there.
You'll know the code when you find it.
Or you won't. Either way.

THE WEAPONS INCLUDE
A sword. A dagger. A bong (420 damage).
A weiner (69 damage, level 55 required).
Toast. Assless Chaps is the armor not a weapon
but it felt wrong to leave it out.
